2018 Holiday Gift Guide: Budget Travel Gifts Under $25

A grey stocking hangs on a white brick wall

Welcome to my 2018 Gift Guide Series! Each day this week I’ll be sharing a small, carefully curated selection of items for a targeted audience or a specific price point, all with the theme of travel. Though I’ll always advocate for taking a trip over giving tangible items, I understand that many families still feel that tug at their heartstrings to wrap gifts to exchange with loved ones (mine included). The items here have been selected for their aesthetics and functionality, as I hold a personal belief that the best gifts have both. And as always, I’ll only ever share items that I own or would own, promise.

This final gift guide in my series is probably my favorite. I do love scouring the internet looking for beautiful, special gift items, but I really love hunting for a bargain. After all, the less you spend on needs and wants, the more money is left over to travel with. Despite their low price, everything on this list still makes a great impression.

BUDGET-FRIENDLY TRAVEL GIFTS

Middle Row || Multi-Charging Cord* | Jade Eye Roller | Stash Flashlight*
Bottom Row ||In Her Kitchen: Stories and Recipes from Grandmas Around the World | Aromatherapy Necklace | Alpaca Gloves

Wrinkle Release Spray* | When I don’t have room in my luggage for my garment steamer, a wrinkle release spray is a handy helper. This small bottle is TSA-friendly and helps wrinkles disappear in a flash.

Foil Mask | Winter air is so drying for the skin, and an airplane can zap moisture from dry skin even faster. This mask addresses any dry skin concerns brought about, and the pouch makes application mess-free.

Collapsible Straw Keychain | This portable straw is a great introduction to a low- or zero-waste lifestyle. It’s portable enough for daily use and certainly deserves a spot on their keychain or in their personal item.

Multi-Charging Cord* | Are they still fighting the Android vs. Apple battle? This set of charging cords can charge both types of devices, eliminating the need for several cables.

Jade Eye Roller | Fluid can build up quickly on an airplane or after a sleepless (read: fun time in a new city) night and a jade roller is an easy way to drain that excess puffiness. This small version can fit just about anywhere.

Stash Flashlight* | Here’s an easy way to thwart thieves and tuck emergency money. This stash flashlight can hide a little bit of currency but also acts as a flashlight and bottle opener. Super handy!

In Her Kitchen: Stories and Recipes from Grandmas Around the World | Grandmas are hands-down the best cooks, and this cookbook celebrates a lifetime of cooking lessons from around the world. Even if they’re not going anywhere soon, you can give them the taste of a world of cuisine.

Aromatherapy Necklace | To put it bluntly, airplanes smell pretty bad. An aromatherapy necklace is a great way to safeguard yourself against whatever the recycled air throws your way while adding in the benefits of using essential oils. Lavender is great for sleeping, while peppermint is my favorite for waking up and feeling more energized.

Alpaca Gloves | Alpaca is the “it” fiber right now, and for good reason. Hollow fibers make it lightweight, yet it magically keeps its wearer warm. These gloves are deceptively simple – they don’t look like much from afar but you can see and feel the luxuriousness up close.
