Welcome to my 2018 Gift Guide Series! Each day this week I’ll be sharing a small, carefully curated selection of items for a targeted audience or a specific price point, all with the theme of travel. Though I’ll always advocate for taking a trip over giving tangible items, I understand that many families still feel that tug at their heartstrings to wrap gifts to exchange with loved ones (mine included). The items here have been selected for their aesthetics and functionality, as I hold a personal belief that the best gifts have both. And as always, I’ll only ever share items that I own or would own, promise.
This post contains affiliate links and I may receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking one of these links (at no additional cost to you!). Thank you for considering shopping through my links this season - it means the world to me!
Though this guide may be categorized as “gifts for him” it’s also difficult for me to think of anyone who would be disappointed in receiving any of the gifts below – so even if your gift-recipient isn’t a “he,” you still might find what you’re looking for.
TRAVEL GIFTS FOR HIM
Top Row The ReNew Short Parka, Everlane | Liquid Body Flask, Areaware | Airism Crew Neck T-Shirt, Uniqlo Middle Row Renewal Kit, Aesop* | Cashmere Crew, Everlane | Travel Kit, Jason Markk Bottom Row Stockholm Raincoat, Stutterheim | Snack Crate | National Park Posters
Why these items?
The ReNew Short Parka, Everlane | What this parka lacks in space-saving packability (I suspect it might be a bit of a beast to try to shove in a suitcase), it makes up for in functionality and sustainability. The pockets would certainly come in handy while traveling and I love the fact that the hood can be removed. Plus, this parka is made out of fifty-five recycled water bottles, which means he can look good while doing good.
Liquid Body Flask, Areaware | This flask is equal parts classy and cool; made from a deceptively flowy-looking stainless steel, it’s certainly ready to go along with you to destination weddings and other events.
Airism Crew Neck T-Shirt, Uniqlo | Michael and I both swear by these tees to keep our outer layers sweat-free during the sticky summer heat (we’re from swampy Florida – we know what we’re talking about). They take up very little room in a suitcase and their accessible price-point makes them stock-up-worthy.
Renewal Kit, Aesop* | It’s easy to fall prey to Aesop’s sleek, minimal packaging, so I promise you’re not alone. This kit from the Aussie skincare retailer contains an unexpected assortment of grooming products – rather than the usual shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, the Renewal Kit contains a TSA-friendly rinse-free hand wash, hand balm, facial hydrosol, and mouthwash.
Cashmere Crew, Everlane | Everlane is practically synonymous with cashmere these days (two years ago they even held a Cashmere Cabin pop-up, which Michael and I attended in all of its hygge-ness), and their $100 cashmere is tough to beat. Plus, if you order anything cashmere today or tomorrow, you’ll receive free two-day shipping on your order. What’s not to like?
Travel Kit, Jason Markk | Sneakerheads and business travelers alike will appreciate this mini-shoe care kit. With wipes, a brush, a towel, and shoe cleaner, he’ll be ready for any dirt that gets thrown his way.
Stockholm Raincoat, Stutterheim | Give him the gift of Swedish Melancholy with Stutterheim’s classic Stockholm raincoat, perfect for colder, wetter climes. This coat is admittedly epic in its construction, and the rubber feels almost bulletproof.
Snack Crate | We always bring snacks and goodies home from our travels, yet mourn when we reach the bottom of the bag. A Snack Crate subscription is a great way to bring the foods of the world into your home when you don’t have the option to go get them yourself.
National Park Posters | These beautifully stylized National Park posters are perfect for the outdoor adventurer’s office wall. Select three to frame in a triptych or order one for every park you visit – a sort of traveler’s trophy wall.
