Lately, I feel like I’m just hanging on for the next three-day weekend (almost there).
Luckily I have lots of fun events going on in town this weekend to provide a bit of respite from the daily routine, as well as friends visiting from out of town. I’m also in this weird limbo where I don’t have a big trip planned, though Michael and I are working on putting together ideas for our last three travels around our home state for the remainder of the year.
In addition to all that (admittedly fun) research, here are some interesting things I read on the internet this week:

Travel
Would you be willing to take the world’s longest flight?
How cute is this Dunkin’ Donuts Tiny House on Airbnb (no longer available)? The good news is that it is only $10 per night and runs on old coffee grounds – the bad news is it’s only available for a few weeks and is booked solid. More good news? You can save $40 off your first stay in a different tiny house (or a castle, or a beach house, or whatever your lodging of choice!) by signing up via our referral link (no longer available).
Supposedly this week is the best time to book holiday travel. Are you heading anywhere this holiday season?

Life & Food
Sophie shared about her switch to borrowing books instead of buying them. We made this switch a few years ago, and now I swing by the library almost weekly to pick up a new stack of reads. Do you use your local library?
Oh wow, a delicious sweet treat goes savory. This sounds like delicious blasphemy.

Style
Applause all around for Universal Standard’s new size-inclusive line, ranging from size 00-40.
A couple of great sustainable brands released new collections this week: Alice + Whittles (now Thesus) has begun accepting pre-orders for their new Collection D’or and Vetta (now closed) dropped The Edgy Capsule – a five-piece capsule that can be mixed and matched to form thirty different outfit combinations. Sounds like the perfect packing list, huh?
My favorite sustainable brand for tights and pantyhose has now added an address for recycling old pairs (from any brand) here in the U.S. You can read more information about the Recycling Club here.
I loved seeing four (Andrea, Allison, Ellie, and Chloe) of my favorite ethical-fashion bloggers style Nisolo’s new brandy-tone shoes, and moreover, I love the collaboration-over-competition mindset.

Things I bought this week
Well, I ended my streak of not buying anything, though what I did buy I ordered using store credit and only paid a little extra out of pocket. Although what little extra I paid was $10 higher than I expected as it seems Everlane is now charging sales tax on all orders, even without having a brick-and-mortar store in Florida. Bummer!
I couldn’t get the Day Heel to work for me, but I’m hoping the V Heel* will be a go-to low-heeled shoe, for work, evening, and travel. Fingers crossed!
I also picked up two necklaces* to gift to my little sisters for their birthdays. My just-turned twelve-year-old sister will receive the Mini Callisto and the almost-ten-year-old will receive the Mini Oberon. I like gifting items from small businesses to my siblings in the hopes of instilling the importance of shopping small and well in them.
The last item I picked up this week is an emerald silk shirt* from our campus thrift store. Everything in the store is $1, but as with most thrift stores, it takes some digging to unearth the gems. I’ve already worn this soft top and look forward to wearing it more (plus I think it will be a great holiday party staple!). I found the same top in mustard, if you’re interested, on Poshmark for $10.

Have a great weekend!
