What.
A.
Month.
Truly, it’s been an emotional rollercoaster around here.
Thursday, October 3 was my last day at my job, where I’ve worked for the past seven years. It was a long day, and I felt a bit overwhelmed by the turnout at our office gathering. I don’t relish being the center of attention, but was so touched by the warmth of my community. It was the ultimate definition of bittersweet.

And now that Michael and I are back from Spain and Italy, the real work has begun (well, after an adjustment period to American food – my body has reacted badly to the “quality” of food in this country). I’m dividing my time between searching for rentals in Charlotte, packing and rehoming household goods, and (hopefully) finding pockets of time for blogging.
While we all wait for my next post, here’s something to read in the meantime:

This is great news. Not perfect news, but great news.
This is a fantastic article about over-tourism in Iceland (and also, over-tourism in general).
I almost hate to admit it, but I often consult these guides when looking for things to do in large cities (but like always, we cross-reference and take things with a grain of salt!).

Just in case you haven’t heard: Everlane is offering free two-day shipping on all orders today (this is a big deal because their standard shipping speed is really, really slow).
I’m trying my best to save money and not shop (hello, unemployment!), but the re-release of old favorites from COS is making my wallet quiver in fear. Check out this dress, this cape, and this blouse – if you dare!
And another amazing release this week: Vetta’s Natural Capsule. The Cropped Cable Knit Sweater caught my eye right off the bat, as it reminds me of those now-ubiquitous chunky cardigans, but with added functionality. [site shuttered]
Bookmarking Lee’s Canadian shopping guide, for when I’m ready to add pieces to my closet from new-to-me northern makers!
Thanks for sticking around during this hectic time! Oh, and a shameless request: if you happen to know of any rentals near Charlotte’s South End, please send them my way!
