2021 Holiday Gift Guide: “Luxe” Gifts

I’m back with another gift guide today! Today I’m sharing my round-up of “Luxe” gifts.

Wait – why is luxe in quotes?

My definition of luxury varies a bit from others; I view an item as “luxurious” if it is one of the best iterations of a product in its category. I find luxury that exists just for the sake of being expensive and covetable boring; I’d much prefer to have the best item in a category at the best price point.

This post is not sponsored by any of the brands mentioned here and I selected all products personally; however, this post does contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase after clicking on one of these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thanks for your support in keeping Wayward ad-free!

So, with that in mind, all of these products are under $600 (which is still quite spendy of course!), but in my humble and picky opinion, all of these items on the list are among the best quality in their category without overspending.

Given the state of the world, this gift roundup includes items primarily intended for use at home – but also a few things they’ll want to tuck in their travel bag when it’s time to get going again.

1. TROVA GO Charcoal Smart Storage. A place to keep things safe. This safe would make a great gift for the person who has everything, and the person who likes finer things. It’s equipped with GPS tracking and can be unlocked via biometric scanning using the owner’s phone.

2. Massage Ball. Sleeker than a massage gun, this massage ball would look at home on an elegant bookshelf display between uses.

3. Mask Chain.* How glam is this mask chain? Instead of a corded mask lanyard, this one is made of gold plated brass. And once there is no longer a need for wearing a mask, they can clip the ends together to wear as a regular chain necklace. Love that versatility!

4. Portable Set with Move + Roam, SONOS. I’ve been a SONOS fan since plugging in my SONOS Play:1 back in 2014. And this year I added the Roam into my home, and I wonder how we got by without seamless music playing in both the house and the backyard. The Move + Roam speakers work over Wifi or Bluetooth, and have voice assistant options – and they’re water-resistant for hanging at the pool.

5. NM Holiday Beauty Advent Calendar. A luxury beauty lover’s dream. This gorgeous box includes 25 deluxe samples from top beauty brands – the perfect size for tucking in a quart bag for air travel!

6. Weathering Steel Pular Chiminea.* Here’s a gorgeous patio piece (that corresponds well with the SONOS speakers, if I may add). A chiminea takes up less square footage than a fire pit, and it’s a heck of a lot more beautiful to look at unlit.

7. Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash & Hand Balm Duet. This brand’s products appear on so many of my lists because they hit that perfect gifting matrix of perceived value and actual cost. And then there’s the fact that they smell so good.

8. The Rise Bookstand. The only book display worthy of your favorite travel tomes. This white oak bookstand is beautifully crafted without the use of nails or screws and will be an heirloom to pass along one day (head’s up – these are made to order, and there’s a bit of a wait).

9. Tea & Coffee Machine.* For the person who can’t get going without a cup of joe, but really. This tea and coffee machine is not only programmable, but it has an alarm clock. It even has a built-in milk fridge! I guess the only thing it can’t do is ensure you got a full eight hours…
