Welcome to a new weekly journal where I’ll be sharing the things I’ve stumbled on while traveling the internet (and occasionally some real-world stuff) each week!

Let’s get to it!
Food & Travel
Glad Midsommar! I would love to visit one of the Nordic countries during this time to celebrate Midsommar’s Eve. We’re watching my younger brothers this weekend, so there was no all-night celebration with Aquavit for us. Instead, we had a quiet night, acknowledging the holiday with some Kladdkaka.
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced this week, with Osteria Francescana (i.e. “that place in Master of None“) topping the list. We haven’t been to any of the restaurants on the current top fifty, and only one of the top 100 (Le Coucou in NYC). Time to get crackin’!
I guess we know where we’ll be eating next time we’re in Paris. Bouillon Pigalle was mentioned this week both over at the New York Times (gifted link) and on David Lebovitz’s blog.

I allowed myself to check out the “New” section on IKEA’s website for the first time in a while (it’s my weakness and I know myself too well) and stumbled upon their SPÄNST collection, which was released in May in collaboration with Chris Stamp. What are your thoughts on their non-furniture products, like skateboards and t-shirts?
Sports
Have you been watching the World Cup? While I don’t have much invested in any particular team, I do love watching the sport both for the hyper-anticipation and for the commitment of the fans. For fun, I took the New York Times quiz, and despite guessing through the whole thing, managed a six out of fifteen. How did you do?

Things I bought this week
I’m working to curb my spending on clothes, which was highly tamed back in the fall and winter, and has kind of exploded as of late. Still, even though I’ve placed a lot of orders, a lot of things have gone back, too. Here’s what I’ve ordered this week:
I’m on the hunt for a good 3/4-sleeve Breton top, but I went ahead and ordered a short-sleeved striped tee from Cuyana. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have a short-sleeve version in the meantime – one that’s easy to style with jeans, shorts, or pants for work and travel.
I mentioned the Ancient Greek Sandals in my Summer Wish List post, but in reality, they’ve been on my list for nearly a year. I placed my SSENSE order on a Sunday and they were at my door when I arrived home on Tuesday!
The Everlane pants arrived and left again, destined for the returns warehouse. I sized down, but they were still too big on me. They’re now sold out until September or October, so I’ll either be searching for a pair secondhand or saving for a (fingers-crossed) holy-grail pair of Clyde pants.
How was your week? What have you been reading lately?
