Happy Weekend!

These posts usually appear on Saturday, but after moving all day yesterday, I was a bit too tuckered out to open my laptop. We’re about 80% moved, which feels good. The rest of our weekend will be spent unpacking, transporting the last few items, and cleaning our old place – which means that there won’t be much time for writing in this space.

I’ll be taking a little time off from the blog to get settled in our new home and to plan and write future posts. But I’ll still be around on Instagram and via comments here!

As for things I’ve read online this week, it’s pretty clear I was procrastinating on packing – there are a lot of things on this list!:

Travel

Travel addiction is a real thing.

How do you feel about tipping your flight attendant?

We may not have children (I mean, we definitely don’t have children), but if we did, you could bet they’d be little travelers! Here is a great roundup of tips for raising little travelers.

Luxembourg is making public transportation free. I’m wondering how much it will be used, as we felt that it didn’t run as frequently or sensibly as we needed it to when we visited Luxembourg City.

I certainly hope that none of our readers are like this family visiting New Zealand

…and wherever you are planning to visit, always check your Airbnb (or any lodging, really) for cameras.

Food

This is a trend I’ve noticed lately, and I can’t be grateful enough.

Would you eat poop-emoji ice cream?

This Cauliflower Dal is calling my name!

Life

While I can’t really relate to many of this author’s roommate stories [link no longer available], I fully relate to the mishmash of furniture collected during my college years (and some of those items are still with us today, waiting to finally be replaced with something a little more grown-up).

In prepping for our move we of course watched Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix, and the show is really having a huge cultural moment. So if you’re on the hunt for a particular item, now is the time to shop at your favorite thrift store!

And while you’re at it, here are some tips for decluttering consciously. [site closed]

Style

I confess I’m kind of in love with this Etsy shop I stumbled across this week. This silk dress and this Tencel dress feature such gorgeous, effortless draping, and this top is like a cross between a cool modern French girl and a 1950s high school sweetheart.

We don’t have enough clothes to warrant extra clothing storage, but this copper clothing rack is really tempting…

This woman has knit a scarf in different colors illustrating the length of delays during her commute.

My favorite dry shampoo is 20% off right now (and in fact, all Klorane products are 20% off with code PARTY)!

Have you heard about Cuyana’s partnership with ThredUp? Each Cuyana order will come with a free ThredUp label, and you can send in unwanted gently-used clothes in exchange for Cuyana credit (and Cuyana will throw in an extra 15% of credit!). Sounds like a great time to pick up a set of travel cases, reviewed here and updated here.

Have a great week!
