Long time, no see! It’s good to be back in this space after a week off.

Summer is definitely here and we’re not getting any relief from the heat any time soon! This weekend we are up in the Atlanta, Georgia, area to visit my family, where we plan to enjoy some hot chicken from Hattie B’s, which just opened here in ATL. We had the pleasure of visiting the Nashville location last year, and while Michael is less than excited about the level of spicy he is about to experience, I am ready.

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week, the mild version:

Watching

Oh my gosh, I just can’t get over these tiny goats who get to go on trips around the Oregon Zoo to meet other animals. Can I be a tiny goat, too, please?

Reading

I love a good cookbook, one that has as many stories as recipes. I just sent in a request for my library to purchase the Superiority Burger Cookbook (so I can have the burnt broccoli salad any time I want). Here are some other good summer cookbook recommendations.

Instagram denies that there’s such a thing as a shadowban, but apparently, I’m currently in the midst of one. My blog hashtag has been banned, as well as the one I use to specify which posts are travel-related, which means my posts don’t show up under that hashtag for a user who is logged in (however you can see them when you are not logged in). More than that, none of my photos are visible under any hashtags when logged in. I’ve been reading lots of articles and posts about this issue, and of course, I’ve reached out to the social network, yet I’ve received no other information. Have you been in this position before?

Offline, I’ve just finished a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, Lauren Weisberger’s When Life Gives You Lululemons. I’m now (finally) starting Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere.

Travel

I never thought a plane could be cute, but how adorable is the new Airbus BelugaXL? Too bad it’s meant for cargo only, otherwise we might all have enough legroom once again…

Life

Would you pay to take a nap? I think the amenities alone might be worth it!

Since we’re in Georgia this weekend, I think I just might pick up some peaches specifically for this cocktail

Style

Are you joining in on the Summer 10×10 (it starts on Friday, July 27)? I learned a lot by participating in past challenges, but I’m still honoring my decision to sit out. After all, I have plenty of opportunities to work with a smaller wardrobe when we travel!

Cuyana has released a preview of their Fall items, and I’m so, so ready. Positively obsessing over the new silk styles, releasing on August 29.

What I bought this week

A photo of the Everlane High Low Belt

A blissfully short list with just one item this week – a secondhand belt* from Slowre. I did, however, place an order for a bunch of denim from Amazon’s Prime Wardrobe program (reviewed here), but since you don’t pay for the items unless you keep them, I don’t consider that technically buying yet…

*this item is no longer available and a similar product is linked

Have a great weekend! I’ll see you Monday!
