White Luggage Tag from Away

It’s my favorite day of the week!

I woke up early this morning and dove right back into my current book for a bit before making coffee and heading to the gym. During the week I set my alarm as late as possible, and I always really enjoy those few quiet moments in bed when the weekend is here.

Michael and I are heading out to run errands soon, including picking items up from the tailor and the cobbler, and will then treat ourselves to lunch at a new-to-us restaurant. Since it’s summer and things are a little slower around here, now is a great time to eat at places we’ve not yet tried.

After that, we’ll spend some more time planning our trip to Cartagena and perhaps fill our growler at our neighborhood brewery…

How gorgeous is this new Weekender Bag from Cuyana?

…There must be something in the water because Away also released new limited editions of some of their bags this week, like this canvas Weekender and this brown leather Everywhere Bag. As for me, I’m still holding out for the black leather Everywhere Bag when it comes back in stock next month (update – I ordered it and reviewed it here!), but I did pick up a leather luggage tag – pictured above – so Michael and I can tell our suitcases apart (by the way, you can take $20 off your first Away bag when you use my referral link!).

Helpful tips for taking a staycation.

Andrea recently mentioned Getaway, a new(ish) company that rents cabins (along with the essentials) not far from major cities. The closest one to us (near Atlanta) starts at just $89 per night – sounds like the perfect place for us to add in when we visit my family!

Pretty sure Michael is insanely jealous we weren’t on this flight.

Life & Home

Well, I guess I’m glad I didn’t jump on this trend.

This is not normal. This is not okay.

Way to go, Target, for adding in adaptive clothing for Halloween: check out this pirate costume (sold out) and this adorable shark!

Drooling over these new East Fork cups.

Books you can read in the bath (no longer available).

Food

I cannot wait to dig into this show.

Bookmarking this magic grid of salad dressing.

Finally a good use for those pizza bones.

Lo learns (and shares!) more info about vegan leather (site closed).

Sunday, July 21 only, Everlane is offering all of their Day Totes for just $125!

Confirming what we’ve known all along.

Sale Alert! Vetta is offering a phenomenal deal on their capsule pieces: Buy three, get one free with code CUSTOMCAPSULE! I’m not in a position to make this purchase at the moment, but if I were to put together my custom capsule, I’d choose the Long Cardigan, Shift Dress, Boxy Blouse, and Cape Jumpsuit for a savings of $89.

Things I bought this week

| Top Row || Tie-Front Tee, Madewell | Cut-Out One-Piece, Aerie | Easy Crop Tee, Madewell |
| Middle Row || Striped Linen Tank (thrifted) | Emmett Shorts, Madewell | Huston Pull-On Crop Pants, Madewell |
| Bottom Row || Chambray Patio Button-Front Midi Skirt, Madewell | Striped Pull-On Jumpsuit, Madewell | Platinum+ Styler, ghd |

Well. It feels like money has just been oozing out of my wallet this week. I purchased a bunch of swimsuits from Aerie last Sunday (I prefer to try them on in the comfort of my own home, and they offer free returns), and just kept this one. I just have to be sure to apply tons of sunblock – imagine what those tan lines would look like!

Madewell currently has their sale-on-sale, so I placed an order for a bunch of lightweight and linen items for summer. If I had a Madewell close to me I would go try things on in the store, but there’s not one within an hour of me. It does get old putting a lot of purchases on my credit card and having to wait for returns to process, but that’s how the cookie crumbles, I suppose.

Finally, I made one single purchase from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: this flat iron. The reviews are good, and it is supposed to curl and straighten hair easily. Oh – and all of those items from Lou & Grey I purchased last week? They all went back because the fit was way, way off. I’m planning to hit my local Goodwill and catalog returns store today to see if there are any gems tucked amongst the racks. Wish me thrift luck!
