The home stretch! I’m pretty glad that tomorrow is the last day of the challenge (and also a casual Friday so jeans are in my forecast). Today was a typical Thursday; we had our staff meeting this afternoon, but the mood was a little different due to all of the things happening in our state today.

But that’s not what we’re here to talk about today – we’re here to talk about Look 9:
After work, I swung by the post office to pick up a pair of shoes I’d ordered. They are gorgeous and part of the reason I’m looking forward to accessing my wardrobe again! Most Thursdays, I prep dinner after I get home and head to the gym for my barre/pilates/yoga combo class, which I love but always runs over time. Tonight we are going to do something unusual – play hooky and head to a local brewery for pizza, music, and beer (but not too late since it’s a school night!). I plan on wearing my same dress, but will likely change into sneakers since we may walk there.
Outfit Details
Bar Studs* | Grey Blazer* | Shift Dress* | Necklace* | Dual Time Zone Watch* | Black Loafers* | Black Tights
I feel ready to get down to business in this outfit. I like the functionality and pop of color the necklace provides, and I like wearing a real watch occasionally instead of my Fitbit. Again, nothing new here with the styling.
I kept it sleek by not adding a belt (it would have been too much with the necklace). If I weren’t doing the 10 x 10, I likely would have worn my Modern Point flats (no longer available), but I kind of like the chunkiness of the loafers and the slightly oversized blazer together.
I went ahead and added tights today since it was cooler this morning than initially expected. I tend to like my tights to have a little sheerness to them, though when it’s freezing out I will go with whatever is warmest. This combo will be in circulation on meeting days, that’s for sure.

Item Spotlight: Grey Blazer*
I bought this blazer a few years back on a really good sale when I was about 15 pounds heavier, and I was in denial about the way it fit. I considered getting rid of it many times over the years because I really do know how bad it is to shop for some theoretical future you.
I finally pulled it back out a few months ago and was delighted to find that it fits more like it should. It’s not perfect – the sleeves are too long (though I’m grateful there is a cute pattern in the lining) and the shoulders are a touch too big, but I think that will always be my biggest issue when shopping for structured garments.
The fabric is substantial without being heavy and thankfully seems to repel stains, which is great because I’m so clumsy! I’ve taken this blazer to work nearly every day since the start of the challenge and I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it. I think it will be working its way into my wardrobe more regularly, and I’ll also start packing it for travel.

The last day is tomorrow! My outfit’s already planned, and though it’s nothing inventive, I’m looking forward to feeling comfortable in something I’ve worn before. Are you looking forward to Friday?
