Happy Fall! Michael and I are currently in the middle of our first travel in Europe during Autumn—we usually travel in the other shoulder season during May and early June. The weather is still brutally hot at home, but the slightly chillier temps here in Amsterdam have me longing for all things Fall.
This season, I’m looking to add a few classics to my wardrobe, as well as introduce a bit more color to my mostly black-and-white palette. As always, I’m seeking comfortable materials that are constructed well and can withstand the wear and tear that comes with travel. And I prefer to purchase from makers who are seeking to better the environment, their workers, or both.

With all that being said, here’s what’s on my Fall Travel Style Wish List this year:
FALL TRAVEL STYLE WISH LIST FOR 2018
A long-sleeve wrap dress
I brought my new tank wrap dress from Everlane along with us to Europe, and I have to say, I’m really in love with this timeless silhouette. I brought along a tee to wear under the tank on chillier nights, but I also like the idea of simplicity and not having to wrangle with multiple layers of fabric underneath a dress.
This wrap dress* from ABLE is the perfect length for ankle boots (as shown) and would look great with tights, too. Adding a black cami underneath would make it work-friendly, and I suspect the fabric is suitcase-friendly. Save 20% at ABLE with code WAYWARD20.
Tall rain boots
I love my ankle rain boots and think a boot in a longer length* would be perfect for chilly, damp days. We don’t encounter those often here in Florida (we suffer hot, muggy, summer rains), but when traveling to colder climes I think these would fit in well. Plus the brand that makes this boot uses sustainable production practices and pays their employees a fair wage—what more could you ask for?
A high-low tee
Fall/Winter collections usually bring new fabrics and a few new fits. I love my raw silk version of this top (no longer available), but I’m not sure how late into the year I can wear it. The color here* is stunning, and the fabric appears to drape beautifully. I think this top would be ideal for those mornings that are quite cold, but an afternoon sun warms the day.
A silk top with stunning details
Well-made basics with beautiful, thoughtful touches are my weakness. I like it when a garment demands a second look, like this silk shell* with a gorgeous wrap and two small pins in the back. Plus, this burgundy color can carry well into winter.
A tough belt bag
This belt bag* is a bit more of a “fantasy” item for me than a practical one. It gives off a tough vibe—and it’s probably tougher than I am—but I can still appreciate it from a distance. I’m considering adding a belt bag to my very small purse collection, and though I may not end up with this one, it gives me some idea of what I want.
A gorgeous green jumpsuit
Oh, emerald. My wardrobe consists of a lot of neutrals, but emerald is the one color that truly has my heart. I am drawn to its compatibility with other neutrals and its year-round wearability. Plus, this jumpsuit* would be perfect for any holiday parties in the winter—combined with a cream turtleneck and some statement earrings? I would be set for the season.
A hefty sweater
I previously told myself that I would likely never want to own one of the heavyweight sweaters from Jamie + the Jones because it isn’t conventionally flattering on my figure, just like I told myself I would never own a T-Top. And yet, there is a black T-Top packed in my suitcase for this very trip. Of all people, I should know to never say never! This sweater is gorgeous, and I really want an easy cream sweater to pair with a pair of black or dark blue denim. Perhaps it’s time to say yes…
Reasonable heels
I struggled with the fit in Everlane’s Day Heel (I tried three different sizes, too), but this block heel* is a pretty close dupe and costs a few dollars less. This low-block heel is the perfect height for travel, and these heels would go well with just about anything—from a torn-up pair of jeans to a demure sheath dress.
A sweet and simple necklace
I’ve had a shopping cart full of items from GLDN for a while now, and one of these days I’ll finally click check out (update: I definitely clicked check out!). The prices are beyond reasonable, especially for custom jewelry made here in the States (plus save $10 at checkout when you sign up via my referral link). Have you ever ordered from them before? What is your favorite GLDN piece?
