Is it just me, or does this time of the year seem to come and go too quickly?
As a child, Christmas took forever to get here, but these days I’m worried that if I blink I might miss it. I think this is because we get caught up in the *buy-buy-buy* messages being sent by the stores and the things we “must” do to celebrate according to TV shows and movies.

I’ve always been one to shop early (I was pulled along for more than one midnight-before-Christmas shopping spree at the big box stores growing up!) and I start getting anxious if I wait too long. I also tend to shop online, as the stores also induce their own sort of anxiety and encourage excess spending. The gifts I prefer to give are either practical, beautiful, or homemade (preferably a combination of all three!).
Here are a few beautiful, practical items that can help make travel easier for any wonderful woman in your life:
MY TOP TRAVEL GIFTS FOR HER
A leather coin pouch
This coin pouch could certainly be used as intended, but I prefer to use small pouches like these to corral headphones or jewelry. The tassel on this particular pouch makes it even easier to access within a larger bag.

A silk pillowcase
Oftentimes it’s best not to think about the linens you are using when traveling, due to either germs or the large quantities of chemicals used to sanitize them. It’s unreasonable to pack an entire sheet set to sleep on in a new place, but a pillowcase wouldn’t be too bulky. This silk one has the added bonus of preventing wrinkles, too.

A helpful travel set for hair
In addition to its cute name (“way to go,” get it?), this kit has everything needed to maintain a hairstyle away from home, whether you wear your hair smooth, wavy, or just thrown into a ponytail.
—
A new craft
I’ve never knitted in my life (update: yes, yes I have – and I love it!), and have only dabbled in crocheting, but these kits from Wool and the Gang have me ready to give it a go. Their kits range from beginner to advanced, and because each item is handmade and therefore unique, the wearer will without a doubt be the only person at their destination wearing that particular thing.

A chic set of scents
This set of five fragrances* will ensure the recipient always smells good, no matter the length of her flight.
—
An elegant sweatshirt
You know that thing you’ve always wanted but would never buy yourself because it’s too extravagant? This is one of those things that she wants. This cashmere sweatshirt* is styled like an old, comfy sweatshirt, but is even softer. She’ll be the best-dressed AND most comfortable person on the airplane in one of these.
—
A gorgeous palette
It’s rare to find a makeup palette that suits all skin tones, but this eye and lip palette* seems like it will work for just about everyone. The zip closure ensures no spillage in her cosmetics bag in case of turbulence.
—
A lovely bracelet
Not only does this bracelet look good, but it does good too. This shop features a wide variety of fair trade gifts that help support their makers.

A sneaky scarf
Remember that whole thing about how I like to give gifts that are beautiful and practical? Here’s another one. This scarf is not only stylish, but it also can help keep its wearer’s belongings secure. A hidden zipper can conceal currency, a passport, or other small lightweight items.
