Miami Beach Photo Diary

My “year of Florida travels” continues!

…sort of.

Michael and I savored our only weekend at home during the month of September, which meant we needed to squeeze another Florida destination somewhere else on the calendar. Thankfully our flight to Europe was booked out of Miami, and who am I to deny these perfectly-aligned circumstances?

Our flight was scheduled to depart around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, so we made the drive down to Miami on Friday night and arrived at our hotel close to midnight (after a quick detour for tacos, naturally).

With our hearts set on getting a full night’s sleep before a long flight, we only had a few hours to explore Miami on Saturday morning before heading to the airport – the perfect amount of time for exploring Miami Beach’s Art Deco District and taking a brief walk along the beach before the heat really set in.

Today’s post is rather image-heavy, yet light on true travel advice (as we really were just walking around!); if you’re looking for more detailed Miami inspiration, I’ve got you covered here and here.

Grab a brightly-colored cocktail and settle in for photos of a city still proudly owning its golden age:

What I wore in Miami Beach

My Europe-bound suitcase didn’t lend itself well to Miami dressing (as you’ll see in my full packing list), but thankfully this wrap dress from Everlane kept me cool in the heat and my Veja sneakers kept me figuratively cool.
