Well, we’re already a few weeks into winter, but better late than never, right?
I’m striving toward building a wardrobe I’m content with – both at home and away – which means I’m giving things a lot of thought before bringing them into my home. Mild winters here in Florida mean I can get away with jeans, light sweaters, and a thin coat most mornings, but when we visit colder destinations I do need a few additional items to be adequately dressed for the weather. I’ve also managed to lay the foundation of my wardrobe with quality, year-round basics, and I wouldn’t mind branching out to add a fun piece or two this season.
Here are a few items I’ve got my eye on this winter:

Travel Leather Tote* | When it’s time to replace my current travel tote (though I don’t know when that will be – it feels almost bulletproof), I think I’ll go for an option like this one. A slightly textured leather means it won’t show wear as easily, which is crucial for a bag that ends up shoved under an airplane seat next to who-knows-what. The best feature, though, is the set of straps on the back of the bag, perfectly placed for sliding over the handles of your suitcase.
Ear Cuff | An ear cuff is a fun, modern way to add a little extra shine to your look without the commitment of a piercing – and travel is a perfect way to try it out (particularly if your office is more conservative).
Bodysuit | With travel comes lots of movement, and I think a bodysuit would help achieve a tucked-in look without the hassle. This brand is of course known for its tights, but I’d like to give some of their other products a try.
Parka* | A Canada Goose is a bit out of my reach at the moment, and honestly, not the most practical thing to own while living in Florida. I’m fine with my Columbia coat for the time being, but I’d like to be a bit warmer when we go to much colder places.
Scarf | Another slightly impractical item, but at least a little more easily justified is this scarf. I currently have a cashmere/wool scarf from YSL that’s smaller, but I love the exaggerated size of the full-size scarf. It’s a classic that should last forever.
Long Cardigan* | My Madelyn sweater from Only Child is going strong, but I feel like I’d like to be able to alternate it with something a little less potato-sacky on those in-between days. This coatigan gives a relaxed vibe but sits a little closer to the body.
Leather Tech Gloves* | So, I’ve just had it with my non-tech leather gloves. Having to remove my gloves in the cold just to quickly make sure that we’re on the right track or to answer the phone is pretty frustrating. These gloves have a modern pattern and are cut at the wrist.
Boots | It’s safe to say I’m pretty obsessed with the shoes from Faye’s line (I already own these flats and these mules), and the Terilyns have been on my mind for some time. I think this reddish color would pair well with the rest of my wardrobe, and provide a nice pop of color when needed.
Corduroy Pants | To tell the truth, I’m not sure if the corduroy trend is for me, but right now these are the only white option in Levi’s Wedgie fit. Whether or not this is the white pair of pants for me is to be seen!
Fleece Sweatshirt | The teddy trend isn’t for me, but a fleece provides a similar feel. The ReNew line diverts used plastic bottles from the landfill and transforms them into garments. This sweatshirt is made out of 35 plastic bottles, would you ever have guessed?
